During a recent pre-purchase car inspection in Singapore, our mechanic observed oil staining around the transmission housing area. Several system fault codes were also detected during the vehicle’s electronic diagnostic scan.
These findings were documented and explained to the customer before completing the purchase.

Oil stains do not necessarily indicate a major problem. Depending on their location and condition, they could be caused by minor oil seepage, residue from previous servicing, or an existing leak that requires further investigation.
Rather than assuming the cause, we document what is observed and highlight areas that may require further checks.
Our diagnostic scan also detected several stored system fault codes.
A stored fault code does not always mean that a component has failed. It could relate to a current fault, an intermittent issue or a previously recorded event.
Our mechanic reviews the relevant fault codes together with the vehicle’s physical condition and operation to help the customer better understand the findings.
Finding oil staining or fault codes does not automatically mean that a used car is unsuitable for purchase.
